UST recorded a 96.15 percent passing rate in the September 2021 electrical engineering board examination, with 25 out of 26 Thomasians acing the test.

This is slightly lower than the University’s previous ratings in 2019 and 2018 at 97.92 percent and 100 percent, respectively. The 2020 examinations were deferred due to the pandemic.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), there should be at least 50 examinees to be considered in the list of top-performing schools. For this cycle, only three schools made it into the list.

Pangasinan State University — Urdaneta was hailed as this year’s top-performing school after it posted a 98.08 percent passing rate with 51 out of 52 qualifying the exams. It is followed by Cagayan State University and Batangas State University at second and third, respectively.

For the master electrician licensure exam, two out of three Thomasians made it to the cut, logging a 66.67 percent passing rate.

Both the electrical engineer and master electrician licensure examinations were held on September 5 to 7. Amid the all-time high cases of COVID-19, the examinations were still conducted at Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Pagadian, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
