By Xander Ceballos
After over two years, the University will be celebrating in-person welcoming rites for incoming college freshmen, the Office of the Secretary General said on Wednesday, July 13.
Welcome Walk, ROARientation, and the Welcome Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 9.
The last time freshmen activities were held in person was in 2019, a year before the pandemic forced schools to switch to an enriched virtual mode of instruction due to the spike of COVID-19 cases.
The famed tiger statue and UST block letters, which were refurbished months ago, will also be revealed on August 9.
Meanwhile, incoming senior high school freshmen will have their in-person “ALAB 2022” orientation on August 10. Details about their rites of passage are yet to be announced.
The “onboarding season” for the academic year 2022 to 2023 will begin with the first of the Triduum masses to honor St. Dominic de Guzman on August 3.
The Opening Exercises, which include the Misa and Discurso de Apertura, will commence on August 4.
Regular classes will begin on August 9. — with reports from Angela Atejera
