Geremy Robinson Jr., who initially committed to the De La Salle Green Archers, bolstered the UST Growling Tigers’ roster with his transfer on Tuesday, May 23.

The Fil-Am combo guard led Hawaii’s Moanalua High School to its second straight OAHU championship, with averages of 19 points and eight rebounds before being recruited by the Taft-based squad.

Robinson Jr.’s high school accolades included being selected twice as a member of the Star-Advertiser boys basketball all-state selection and gaining multiple interests from US and NCAA schools before moving to his mother’s homeland, the Philippines.

Robinson Jr. credited his father, Geremy Robinson Sr., a former PBA import who last played for Air-21 Express, making a huge impact in connecting him with numerous collegiate teams in the country.

He also revealed that UST’s playing style and his trust in head coach Pido Jarencio’s system played a huge role in his decision to commit to the Tigers.

Robinson Jr. Also attributed his initial talks with UST’s top player Nic Cabañero as instrumental in his decision to banner the black and gold saying that Nic was very welcoming about the idea of him transferring to España.

The 21-year-old still has four years of eligibility left come UAAP Season 87.

The entry of Robinson Jr. is another addition to UST’s major roster rebuild under head coach Pido Jarencio, along with the likes of SJ Moore, Mark Llemit and Jun Melecio.
