Tiger Spikers falter against FEU
The University of Santo Tomas Tiger Spikers bowed down against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, 23–25, 23–25, 24–26, in the 2017 PVL Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan Wednesday.
Already at set point in the third set, FEU’s Jude Garcia sparked a 4–0 run to seal the game, capped by John Paul Bugaoan’s block against Wewe Medina, 26–24.
“[Natalo dahil sa] faulty execution of plays tsaka sa mindset,” UST head coach Odjie Mamon said.
In the second set, back-to-back error from FEU helped UST equalize, 23-all, but Redjohn Paler ended the set with a kill, 25–23.
Rookie Joshua Umandal paced UST with 14 points while Arnold Bautista had 11 marker.
Bugaoan scored game-high 16 points while PRicharaler added 11.
The Tiger Spikers dropped to 2–2 win-loss record.
UST’s next game will be against the National University Bulldogs on Monday, Sept. 18, at the same venue.
