Thomasian tops September 2017 physician boards

A Thomasian led the new batch of doctors in the September 2017 licensure examination for physicians.

Faculty of Medicine and Surgery graduate Vincent Edouard Anthony Retardo Gullas bagged the first spot with a score of 90.50 percent.

Five other Thomasians also made the list of ten highest scorers in the board examination.

Mark Vincent Barcelona placed fourth with a score of 89.83 percent. He was followed by another Thomasian Ana Eryka Peralta who earned a score of 89. 67 percent.

Stephanie Marie Seno clinched the eighth spot after earning a score of 89.42. Following her is Simon Go placing ninth with a score of 89.33 percent.

Kelvin Lee Yu rounded off the top ten with a score of 89.25 percent.

Moreover, the University placed fifth in the list of top performing schools, after garnering a 97.10 percent passing rate, in which 468 out of 482 Thomasians made the cut. This is higher compared to last year’s 94.84 percent, wherein 423 out of 446 Thomasians passed the examination.

The Cebu Institute of Medicine and St. Luke’s College of Medicine were hailed as best performing schools after earning a perfect passing rate.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission, 3,340 out of 4,064 examinees nationwide passed the board exam. — M.W.D.P
