Thomasian tops October 2017 accountancy boards

A Thomasian emerged as the topnotcher in October 2017 licensure examination for certified public accountants, while the University improved its passing rate this year.
Alfonso Solomon Ramos Magno led the new batch of certified public accountants with a score of 91.33 percent.
Six other Thomasians also made it on the list of top ten highest scorers.
Ray Jay Dizon shared the fourth spot with Ronald Bolanos Jr. of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila. Both of them earned a score of 90.67 percent.
Alvin Thomas Endaya landed in the seventh place with a score of 90.00 percent.
Maria Isabel Marfil and Marc Villaverde bagged the ninth spot with a score of 89.67 percent. They were joined by Rochelle Enrile, Angel Mae Reyes, and Vanessa Roxas of Far Eastern University.
Louize Areno and Christine Mae De Leon both landed in the tenth place with a score of 89.33 percent. They were joined by Marcia Butastas of the University of San Carlos.
Meanwhile, UST garnered a passing rate of 91.99 percent this year, in which 333 out of 362 examinees made the cut. This was higher than last year’s 90.72 percent or 352 out of 388 examinees passed the exam.
The University of the Philippines-Diliman retained its title as the top performing school in the board exam after all its 69 examinees passed.
