Thomasian claims top spot in US management accounting boards
by Carisse Nicole Dumaua
A Thomasian accountant topped this year’s licensure examination for certified management accountants in the United States.
Manny John Tan, who graduated magna cum laude in 2005, received a gold medal for garnering the highest score in the board exam held in February last year.
Tan is now working as a financial controller at a firm in Dubai.
In 2005, he placed 9th in the licensure exam for certified public accountants.
The board exam is a two-part test set with only a 50-percent passing rate globally.
It is conducted by the Institute of Management Accountants, an umbrella association for accountants worldwide.
