Tigers short-handed against FEU

The University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers fell short against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, 65–78, as the Tigers remain winless in the UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena Saturday.

Down by only one point, 48–49, UST was held scoreless in over four minutes of the fourth canto, as FEU projected a 14–0 blitz.

FEU’s Ron Dennison scored four straight points with over two minutes remaining in the game, and the Tamaraws never looked back, 59–76.

UST’s Jeepy Faundo delivered 10 of its UST’s 17 points in the final period over FEU’s 29.

The Tigers gave away 24 turnovers compared to FEU’s 16 turnovers.

UST Head Coach Boy Sablan refused to comment once again after the game.

Jeepy Faundo tallied game-high 16 points and 11 boards, while Jordan Sta. Ana provided 11 markers.

FEU’s Ron Dennison and Arvin Tolentino scored 15 points respectively in a winning effort.

UST fell to a 0–4 record, while FEU improved its record with a 2–2 card.

UST will try their luck once again in getting its first win against Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the Araneta Coliseum.
