Science alumnus places third in August 2021 veterinarian licensure boards

College of Science alumnus Justin Joseph Gaña landed in third place after posting an 83.96 percent score in the August 2021 veterinarian licensure examination.
Gaña finished Biology in the UST — College of Science in 2016. He later pursued a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at De La Salle University — Araneta.
He followed Gabriel Comota III with 85.36 percent and Carmela Marie Lizares with 84.5 percent, both from the University of the Philippines — Los Baños, at first and second place, respectively.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission, the national passing rate of the examination was at 38.33-percent, with 276 out of 720 examinees qualifying the boards.
No top-performing schools were announced, as none of the universities qualified in the requirement of having at least 20 takers to be considered.
The test was held on August 4 to 6 while Metro Manila was still under General Community Quarantine with heightened and additional restrictions. It was also held in Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi and Tuguegarao.
