The UST Golden Tigresses, behind the 20-point performance of Regina Jurado, toppled the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in four sets, 25–21, 25–18, 23–25, 25–21 to record their second win in the second round of the Shakey’s Volleyball Super League held at Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Saturday afternoon.

This win secured a second seed for the Tigresses in the Pool F of the second round, this came after a triple-tie in the standings involving UST, DLSU and AdU.

Following a back and forth action in the fourth set, a four-point swing capped off by a Jurado off the block hit, 24–20, shifted the momentum to the side of UST who ultimately punctuated the set.

The Tigresses tried to execute a 3-set sweep but the Lady Tamaraws spoiled UST’s comeback late in the third set, forcing a fourth set.

When asked about the learnings and things to improve on the Tigresses, MVP of the match Regina Jurado stated, “Hopefully po less errors and more communication and maging happy po inside the court.”

This is a bounce back victory for UST after being overpowered by La Salle in four sets in their match last Saturday.

The Golden Tigresses will face UP in a quarterfinal knock-off game on Nov. 6.
