Hindi pa tapos, nanalo pa lang ng dalawa — Coach Kungfu Reyes

After the triumphant win that halted National University Lady Bulldogs’ 20-game winning streak, UST Golden Tigresses head coach Kungfu Reyes said he wanted his team to keep themselves on their toes as the season remains at its infancy.
“Hindi pa tapos, nanalo pa lang ng dalawa,” said Reyes as UST’s victory over National U placed both squads to an identical 2–1 slate.
“Ang dami pang remaining games…We are still in the first round,” he added.
With the now blemished NU, Reyes reminded his players to stay wary on other teams, emphasizing the strong playing field this season.
“Mayroon pang 3–0, nandun pa si La Salle. Kami, may talo din kami,” Reyes said in Saturday’s afternoon post-game press conference.
Meanwhile, the Lady Spikers eked out a five-set thrilling win against the Golden Tigresses in the opening weekend of the season and had since swept their next two assignments versus Katipunan-based squads University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons and Ateneo Blue Eagles.
Concealed in a three-way tie at the 2–1 slate is the Adamson Lady Falcons, who won over the UE Lady Warriors and FEU Lady Tamaraws and fell short of a five-set upset over the erstwhile undefeated Lady Bulldogs.
Just as Coach Kungfu earlier predicted, Season 85 is shaping up to be a dogfight.
Reyes plans to take the season one game at the time as the España-based crew looks to bag the UAAP women’s volleyball title that have eluded them since 2010.
“Adjustment after adjustment after adjustment, ‘yun ang gagawin namin kasi lahat sila may sariling strengths and weaknesses,” Reyes said.
“One step at a time. Ngayon nalagpasan namin si NU, next game Adamson naman,” he added.
UST and Adamson are set to uneven their teams’ equal standings as they clash next at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
