Growling Tigers succumb to NU

The University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers ran out gas against the National University Bulldogs, 84–94, in UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena Wednesday.

The Tigers were held scoreless for the last two minutes of the game as the Bulldogs unleashed a 7–0 blitz to end the game.

Tigers committed 14 turnovers in the fourth canto alone.

UST started slow before forward Regie Boy Basibas came in midway through the first canto contributing 11 points.

Growling Tigers head coach Boy Sablan refused to comment after the game.

UST fell to 0–3 record, while NU improved to 2–1 card.

Basibas paced UST with 23 points while Jordan Sta. Ana added 14.

The Growling Tigers will try to bounce back against the FEU Tamaraws on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the same venue.
