Eka Soriano leads UAAP Season 85 MVP race

Growling Tigress Eka Soriano leads all players in the UAAP Season 85 women’s basketball statistical points race, the league announced on Sunday noon.
Soriano, who posted 16.43 points, 6.29 rebounds, 7.29 assists, and 4.29 steals in the first round, is right in front of the SP race with 101.14 points. This is a wire-to-wire statistic compared to Ateneo’s Kacey Dela Rosa who finished second with 87.8 statistical points.
Fellow Tigress Tacky Tacatac joined Soriano who ranked sixth with 73.857 points. Tacatac notched 16,71 markers, 4.57 boards, 2.89 steals, and 2.86 assists throughout the first round of play.
Rounding up the top 10 was UST’s shifty guard Brigette Santos, who averaged 6.57 points, 5.29 rebounds, 4.71 dimes, and 2.57 steals, which made her garner 63.286 points.
Along with UST were Ateneo’s Jhazmin Joson (81.429), NU’s Karl Pingol (74.8) and Camille Clarin (74.286), La Salle’s Charmine Torres (69.571) and Fina Tchuido (68.0), and Lady Bulldog Kristine Cayabyab (67.286).
The Growling Tigresses look to carry this feat over as they joust against the free-falling UE Lady Warriors on Nov. 2, 9:00 AM, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
