Mario Bonleon and Renzo Subido will suit up next season for the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers after missing UAAP Season 80.

This news was confirmed by both gunners via Twitter, as they expressed their excitement to join with the España-based squad once again.

The duo cited different reasons behind their departure with the Tigers, and both of them decided to play together in PBA D-League.

Subido, who averaged 6.6 points in Season 79, dedicated his time to improve during his stint outside UAAP.

“I already planned my comeback for next season. I just dedicated one year to improve myself and get better so I could maximize my last two years in the UAAP,” Subido explained.

With his newfound confidence, Subido now have what it takes to lead the team.

“I’m confident that I’m more than ready to help the team get back on top for next season,” he quipped.

On the other hand, Bonleon was not shy to express his frustrations over the coaching staffs and limited playing time.

Now that Sablan and the rest of his coaching staffs are set to leave UST, Bonleon is all set for his return in Season 81.

“Nung nalaman na wala na si Coach Boy alam [ko] na makakabalik ako,” Bonleon said.

Playing in his final year in Season 81, Bonleon made a bold expectations for the Tigers, who only finished last in two straight seasons with only four combined wins.

“Kung last season eh three quarters lang naglalaro ang UST, ngayon hindi na. Hanggang fourth na. At di na tayo ma-lalast place ulit I guarantee,” he ended.
