Akomo now eligible to play in UAAP

Steve Akomo debut for the Growling Tigers will push through this season after being ruled eligible by the UAAP board of trustees.

Earlier this week, a news broke out that Akomo and UP recruit Ibrahim Outtara were declared ineligible to play this season by the board.

Growling Tigers coach Boy Sablan expressed his gratitude that their preparations with Steve Akomo would not go to waste.

“Ngayong mayroon na siyang green light maglaro, maitutuloy na lahat ng paghahanda namin kasama siya,” he said in a mobile interview with TomasinoWeb

Steve Akomo sat last season to serve his one-year residency rule.

Steve Akomo led his former team, the University of Visayas Green Lancers to a finals appearance in the CESAFI league in 2015.
