The Manila Archbishop said that the rosary expands the people’s faith during the feast day of Santisimo del Rosario on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Jose Cardinal Advincula, during his homily at the Santisimo del Rosario Parish, said that the rosary contained the “contemplation of the life of Jesus through the eyes and heart of Mary.”

“Kapag nagdarasal tayo ng rosary, hinihiram natin ang mata at puso ni Maria, na laging nakatugon kay Hesus,” Advincula said.

“Sa pamamagitan ng santo rosaryo, tinuturuan tayo ni Maria ng manalangin at magtiyaga, at maging tapat sa buhay panalangin,” he added.

Advincula also emphasized that having faith in God makes us strong despite challenges and difficulties.

“We need faith because faith gives us courage to follow the Lord and to do our mission. By faith, God gives us the courage to face the challenges of mission and without faith we may easily give up when difficulties come our way,” he said.

The Holy Rosary is a set of prayers used along with rosary beads which are being prayed by the faithful as a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Philippine church declared the month of October as the Holy Rosay month and the feast in honor of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary is celebrated every October 7.
